Wang Pha Rubber Farmer Community Enterprise

A community enterprise of rubber agroforesters.

Wang Pha is a community enterprise of rubber agroforesters in the Songkhla Lagoon Watershed of southern Thailand, part of the Wanakaset Symbiosis Network. Its members grow rubber the Wanakaset way — inside a diverse, multi-species agroforest rather than a monoculture — so the same land yields many harvests while rebuilding soil, water, and biodiversity.

Farmer profile

Prakong Lopakul transformed a monoculture rubber plantation into an integrated Wanakaset agroforest — weaving stingless-bee and honeybee keeping through the trees to build a steadier, more sustainable income. What began as a small supplementary sideline has made him a teacher: farmers and groups now travel to his farm to learn from his expertise.
